The global environmental, economical and juridical context of our industrial societies calls urgently for the definition of a sustainable development criteria which would be clear, undisputable, independent of specific fields or lobbies, based on widely accepted physical principles. Standing at the crossing point between physics, engineering, biology and ecology, the concept of exergy displays these properties.
It must be understood that energies, processes, materials but also urbanistic and logistic configurations display structure and arrangement whose quality can be quantified by exergy. The aim of this conference is to show that exergy is now used in a large variety of systems and fields for analysis, conception and optimization: energy production and distribution, chemical processing, materials, logistics, urbanism, architecture, industrial and landscape planning and agro ecosytems and ecology.
Exergy gives access to rigorous methodologies and optimization strategies by minimizing materials and energy used at local and global scales. Its use leads to substantial economy. The main objective of the conference is to show that exergy should be the crucial physical quantity of the 21th century.

Le thème du congrès SFT 2011 à Perpignan est l'Énergie solaire et la thermique. Sur ce thème fort, des conférenciers invités présenteront les différents aspects de la génération d’énergie. Les stratégies énergétiques, mises en œuvre à l’échelle des pays, des continents et de la planète, seront présentées. Nous ferons également le point sur les développements récents dans le domaine de la thermique. Les recherches de type expérimentale, numérique et de modélisation sont invitées. Les travaux sélectionnés, après expertise du Comité Scientifique, donneront lieu à des communications écrites qui seront présentées sous forme d'affiches pendant le congrès. Des ateliers de travail sur des thématiques variées se dérouleront en parallèle. Le programme inclura aussi une visite des sites uniques en France et en Europe que sont :

• Le laboratoire PROMES à Odeillo équipé d’un ensemble de concentrateurs solaires à hauts et très hauts flux, capables de produire des hautes températures (plus de 3000°C) avec un four solaire de 1 mégawatt et 11 concentrateurs moyenne puissance de 1,5 à 6 kilowatts.
• Le site de Thémis, plateforme « multi-technologies solaires » du Conseil Général des Pyrénées Orientales, où le CNRS développe le Projet PEGASE (Production d’électricité par turbine à gaz et énergie solaire). Il met en œuvre une tour de 105 mètres de haut et un champ de 106 héliostats de 54 mètres carrés

Objectifs

• Proposer un forum de discussion R&D de deux jours (du 18 à midi au 19 à 14h)
• Organiser les futurs évènements de l’AFSIA au cours d’une assemblée générale

Thème des journées

Avec le coût croissant de l’énergie et les considérations environnementales, la consommation d’énergie au cours du séchage et des procédés avec changement de phase est plus importante que jamais. Ces journées seront consacrées à différents aspects de l’optimisation dans ces opérations industrielles :

• Procédés à grande efficacité énergétique,
• Diagnostique thermique et bilan énergétique des installations existantes,
• Réduction de la consommation dans les procédés traditionnels,
• Amélioration du rendement matière (moins de pertes, meilleure qualité…),
• Optimisation/contrôle du procédé de séchage,
• Valorisation de gisements d’énergie (bas niveau d’exergie, énergie intermittente…),
• Utilisation d’énergies renouvelables.

Ces dernières années ont vu un très net développement des « méthodes de champ », que ce soit en vue de l’estimation de paramètres inconnus (conductivité, diffusivité …) ou de sources inconnues (flux surfacique, source volumique). Avec l’évolution des géométries du 1D au 2D (voire 3D), et grâce à la généralisation de l’utilisation des techniques inverses , nous sommes passés de l’estimation de quelques inconnues moyennes ou localisées, à l’estimation de « champs » d’inconnues. Le progrès des techniques de traitement des informations s’accompagne cependant d’un besoin croissant du nombre de mesures nécessaires à la résolution correcte du problème.
Dans le même temps les caméras thermiques ont connu d’énormes progrès techniques, particulièrement en termes de résolution spatiale et temporelle, mais aussi, dans une moindre mesure, de rapport signal/bruit… Néanmoins, l’outil thermographique possède un certain nombre de défauts parfois difficilement compatibles avec les impératifs métrologiques : correction de non uniformité (et relation avec la résolution spatiale), profondeur de champ dans certaines configurations optiques, images manquantes, étalonnage, dérive et corrections …
C’est à partir de ces constatations qu’il nous a paru opportun de programmer cette journée de travail du groupe « Thermographie IR », dont les objectifs sont de :

1.  montrer les avancées qu’autorisent l’utilisation de matériels les plus récents,
2. donner un aperçu des applications et de leurs exigences,
3. identifier les points de blocage.

1st Announcement Conference V.E.R.T.E.’11 On Energy Valorization of Thermal Effluents and Environment With the support of S.F.T.

V.E.R.T.E.’11 will be held from April 13 th to 15 th, 2011 and hosted by MINES ParisTech, under the presidency of Dr. Denis CLODIC, Research Director and manager of the Center for Energy and Processes (CEP) ‐ Paris, and the copresidency of Prof. Dr Michel FEIDT, of the University Henri Poincaré in Nancy, coordinator of the Group Energy of the S.F.T. and secretary of the Commission E2 of I.I.F. – I.I.R.

• Thermodynamics
  New developments on exergy analysis of systems and components, thermal integration, energy efficiency, and minimization of environmental impacts.

• Heat and mass transfers
  With a focus on compact heat exchangers, mini and micro‐channel heat exchanges, oil management, frosting / defrosting.

P R É S E N T A T I O N

Le stockage des énergies intermittentes est stratégique pour assurer leur développement et la gestion des réseaux électriques.
Ce deuxième colloque a pour objectif de faire le point sur l’industrialisation des modes de stockage stationnaire par voie électrochimique, thermochimique, ou sous forme d’hydrogène.
Les différentes sessions permettront :

• de présenter des retours d’expérience concernant les technologies les plus avancées, et leurs perspectives de développement,
• d’appréhender les contraintes de mise en oeuvre des procédés de stockage par voie chimique,
• d’identifier les verrous technologiques.

Une table ronde sera consacrée à l’intégration des unités de stockage au réseau électrique. 

Présentations, posters, et discussions, permettront à un public d’industriels et de chercheurs, français ou internationaux, de mettre commun des connaissances, d’échanger sur les projets en cours et de croiser
les points de vue.
Ce colloque a pour ambition d’apporter sa contribution au développement des énergies intermittentes.
