Après le succès rencontré par les douze écoles précédentes (Mai 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, Juin 1999, mai 2001, juin 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 et 2011), il a été décidé de poursuivre l'action engagée par une treizième école.

Au cours de ces années, l'outil numérique a pris de plus en plus d’importance dans le développement des études en mécanique des fluides, aussi bien dans le domaine de la recherche fondamentale que dans celui des applications. Il est devenu un outil de connaissances et de prédiction incontournable au même titre que l’expérimentation physique ou que les analyses théoriques. Du point de vue des méthodes, l'essor de la mécanique des fluides numérique repose sur une interaction interdisciplinaire importante entre modélisation physique, l'analyse mathématique des modèles et des méthodes de résolution et enfin, l'implémentation des algorithmes sur des calculateurs aux architectures en constante évolution. Les objectifs de l'école sont donc de couvrir l'ensemble de ces aspects, indispensables pour appréhender les outils et méthodes de calcul les plus avancés, réaliser des simulations d'écoulements complexes de manière efficace et sûre et imaginer les techniques du futur.

L'Ecole bénéficie du label : Ecole Thématique du CNRS.

Overview

As a world exposition in conference, SCET2013 aims to bring together engineering and technological expertise professional from the industry, academia and government to discourse on research and development, professional practice, business and management in the engineering and technological fields. It is composed of devise branch conferences which cover engineering, environment, health, information technology, medical science, education, psychology, management, finance and power and energy fields. This conference shall enable interdisciplinary collaboration between engineering technologists in the academic and industrial fields as well as networking internationally.

In addition, poster sessions and exhibitions offer ample opportunity for information exchange among delegates and participants, especially for those who are looking for new opportunity between presenters and participants. Congrès SFT sur le thème "Thermique & Contexte Incertain"

L'édition 2013 du congrès annuel de la Société Française de Thermique se tiendra au Centre des Congrès, au bord du lac de Gérardmer, ville des Hautes-Vosges (http://www.gerardmer.net/), située à 40 km d'Epinal. L'objectif du congrès est d'abord de permettre aux jeunes chercheurs et doctorants en thermique de présenter leurs travaux dans un contexte interactif et de se focaliser en outre sur une thématique particulière intéressant la discipline.

Cette année, les conférences plénières du congrès porteront sur certains aspects stochastiques ou liés à un contexte incertain rencontrés en thermique, tant en modélisation qu'en expérimentation, ou au carrefour entre ces deux approches.

Objectifs

Les opérations de cristallisation et de précipitation occupent une place centrale dans la chaîne du solide. Elles concernent différents secteurs comme ceux de la pharmacie, de la chimie fine, de l'agro-alimentaire, ou des minéraux. Elles permettent de produire des produits à haute valeur ajoutée, mais aussi de valoriser des « déchets » et de contribuer à la dépollution de certains milieux. Elles sont réalisées en solution, en phase gaz ou fluides supercritiques, ou en milieux poreux.

Durant ces dernières années, de fortes interactions entre le monde académique et le monde industriel ont rendu possible le développement d'aspects fondamentaux et technologiques.

Ainsi, ce colloque vise à faire le point sur les connaissances actuelles et le savoir-faire des équipes universitaires et industrielles françaises dans le domaine de la Cristallisation et de la Précipitation Industrielles. Il jouera aussi un rôle important en favorisant les échanges entre chercheurs, industriels, et équipementiers.

Aims and Scope:

This school project aims to offer to its participants an introduction into the state of the art in the research field of thermal radiation at the nanoscale. It is widely open to physicist, chemists as well as engineers (PhD students, postdocs, professors) interested in the field and the ways to modify and tailor the thermal radiation emitted both in far and near field by nanostructured materials. The program of the school will be organized in a series of lectures (typically 1 hour) given by internationally recognized personalities in theoretical or experimental research in near-field thermal radiation. These lectures will give beside a pedagogical introduction into the field an overview of present development, new insights and novel result in theory as well as a survey of the experimental measurements in the field.

Beside the invited lectures, participants can also contribute with an oral presentation. Furthermore, a poster session will be organized in order to present the most recent works and discuss on a more informal platform. The participants are invited to propose contributions for this purpose.

About the Conference

In the last years the CFC and HCFC refrigerants are mostly replaced with HFCs which are high potent greenhouse gases and are included in the Kyoto Protocol. In many reports there are alarming projections of GHG emissions including HFCs. In Europe an EU Regulation 842 on F-gases is introduced. More than 100 countries support the proposal for phase-down of HFCs within the Montreal Protocol, but an agreement is not reached. On the last UN Climate Conferences the negotiations were unsuccessful. In a meantime new HFC refrigerants (named as HFOs) with low GWP are announced.
In the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry, confusion and uncertainties related to working fluids in many applications are continuing. In addition, there are many groups with diverging interests: chemical companies, manufacturers of equipment, distributors, users, environmental organizations, politicians and the public.
Despite many difficulties, the global trend towards using natural refrigerants is intensifying. There are very positive signals in Europe and some parts in the world where expanding use of ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons in various applications is occurring. We will eliminate all uncertainties in the future regarding both Protocols and environmental regulations applying to natural refrigerants.
Of all refrigerants applied today, ammonia is the oldest: it is a unique refrigerant that has been used continuously since the 19th century. The topics of the conference are: design of modern ammonia systems and technological innovation, improving e nergy efficiency, various applications, technical guidelines, safety and regulations. It is very clear: by using more ammonia refrigeration, we are employing environmentally friendly technology.
The previous four conferences were very successful, so we look forward to the 5th Conference on Ammonia Refrigeration Technology. You are welcome in the beautiful city of Ohrid and Ohrid Lake !

Scope of the conference

Fuel cells and their reverse process producing hydrogen being a promising technology that has the potential to contribute to the transition in the energy system during the next decades, the main topics at FDFC2013 will address fuel cells and electrolysers (both polymer electrolyte membrane and solid oxide), ranging from fundamentals of electrochemistry to systems operation. Recent advances in materials, single cells, stacks and system development, as well as recent, equally pertinent issues, such as fuel cell diagnosis, power processing and control, characterisation of MEA upon operation/ageing, will be also presented during the conference.

Microcogeneration, micropolygeneration (combined cooling, heating and power generation) and hybrid systems (both fossil and renewable fuelled) will be covered. Contributions on related microtechnologies, such as wind, PV-T, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps (thermally, mechanically or electrically activated) are welcome.

Thermographie infrarouge et matériaux :
du CND à la caractérisation thermophysique

Première annonce, appel à communications.

Bien que nous soyons souvent, dans le cadre de la Société Française de Thermique, plutôt tournés vers les études un peu plus « amont », souvent à petit échelle, force est de constater que nombre de travaux en thermographie infrarouge concernent des applications plus « macroscopiques ». A la demande d’un certain nombre de collègues, nous vous proposons donc, lors de cette journée, de nous intéresser prioritairement (mais que cela ne soit pas un frein à d’autres propositions !) aux applications de caractérisation de matériaux d’intérêt mécanique et/ou thermique, et de Contrôle Non Destructif, par exemple dans le domaine du bâtiment.
Ces dernières années, l’offre de matériels de thermographie s’étant largement élargie, et la thermographie s’étant relativement démocratisée, ce pourrait être également l’occasion de faire le point sur un certain nombre de sujets, par exemple

1. qu’en est-il du rapport qualité/prix des caméras « bas-coût » ?,
2. quelles applications peuvent s’en contenter ?
3. des post-traitements adaptés peuvent-ils pallier des performances moindres ?
